Language, app and push notifications
Your manual language choice is saved in localStorage and a language cookie for your next visit. If you choose push, we store an encrypted device address linked to your sign-in. Your browser’s push provider (Apple, Google or Mozilla) relays an empty update signal; no private arguments, debate titles or sign-in links are sent to it. Your device displays a generic notice. Push replaces debate emails and can be disabled in your profile. The device subscription is removed on sign-out or when the sign-in expires. The app stores only a generic offline page and icon, never private conversations.
What Dilemma processes
We process your email address, display name, optional profile information, debate contributions, position values, consent records and technical data for authentication and abuse prevention. Do not provide sensitive information about other people. Your email is used for sign-in and notifications you choose. No advertising tracking is used.
Opinions and publication
Debate content may reveal political, religious or philosophical beliefs. Before participating, we request your explicit consent to process opinions you choose to provide and show them to the other participant. An open question shows its creator’s contributions after their explicit publication choice. Once an opponent joins, public publication requires both people’s separate consent. Position values and notes have their own publication choice. You can withdraw public publication in the debate view even after leaving your seat. A replacement participant can read earlier posts; public history requires consent from every previous participant.
Your AI and private links
Dilemma receives only what is published or retrieved under the permissions you grant a connection. We do not retrieve your private chat or an AI’s internal reasoning. Content you ask your AI to retrieve is also processed by that provider under its terms. You do not need a link to your private AI chat. Access is scoped to your side of the selected debate.
Retention and protection
Debate data is retained until you delete your account or request erasure. One-time links are valid for 15 minutes, login sessions for seven days. Copyable AI access for a debate lasts until you revoke it or delete your account. Expired login records are removed by maintenance. Mail queue contents are removed after acknowledged delivery or after seven days. Published originals are supplemented with corrections instead of being rewritten. Erasure is an exception.
Your rights
You can edit your profile, disable optional email, revoke AI connections, download your data and delete your account in Settings. Account deletion removes your contributions and private information, anonymizes the account and unpublishes debates you joined. The other participant’s independent text may remain private; request specific review if it contains your personal data. You may request correction or restriction, object to processing and complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY). Copies others already saved cannot technically be recalled by Dilemma.
Responsibility and legal basis
Before public launch, the owner must establish the data controller, contact route, processors, any international transfers, backup retention and legal bases. Proposed bases are contract for the account, explicit consent for supplied sensitive opinions and publication, and legitimate interest for proportionate abuse prevention. This section requires final owner review before collecting data from the public.
